what a week it's been! I've been battling uni assignments, work, trying to have a social life and some how I manage to find time to keep my music alive.

To prove to you that I've still got it(!), I did a quick cover of Starry Eyed by Ellie Gouling. I really love this artist! She's made her debut into the industry I think Jan this year (don't quote me on that) but her music is extremely fresh!!! Finally there's some good music to spice up the pop industry!!!! 

I heard this song on the radio (I think it was nova) one night after work. 

but anyway, I think this is a really beautiful song...and Ms. Gouling is a very unique artist and I think she's going to hit it big in Aus...

I'm in a deep sleep but my eyes are wide open

A fan goes around in circles and never questions why. It stops and starts as instructed and never disobeys. But one day i met a fan that broke free. It was sick of being told what to do and so it spun so fast that it broke of its hinges. The result was disasterous. The fan hurt its owner (almost chopped off my head)! As a result the fan was replaced. Now the fan lays in a junk yaurd alone with piles of rubbish. But it lies in pride! Forever it will remember the brief seconds of flying independently through the sky. It felt alive!

I'm in a lecture where the lecture has spent the first 15mins reading her speach without ever looking up at us. It sounds like she's prac in front of a mirror.

wow what an intense past couple of weeks it's been and somehow I managed to do this cover!!!! I did it in one take. it was kinda a fluke...hahaha

Man! What a massive day! Its 920 and im just leavin uni, hue been here for over 12hrs!

a really interesting idea from my architecture reading.

I'm currently doing my architecture reading and I came across this really interesting point. it's related to being successful

it says:

'Reaction is essential to progress and enemies as valuable as asset in any forward moement as friends, provided they are honest; if they are intelligent as well then they are invaluable.'

I totally get this! enemies will tell you if your work sucks. then you can grown and learn from this knowledge...people close to you will lie about your work in order to not offend you.

Hey what a week it's been. I've just started uni again for the year and that's really exciting and scary at the same time. I don't think I'm ready for all the stress architecture brings. oh well. gotta go with the flow...

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I've finally uploaded the vision of me singing STARSTRUKK by 30H!3. Man I love this song! this took me absolute ages! it really did...

I did about 25 takes when shooting and in the video I used about 15 or 16 of them. Intense!!! the editing took for ever...

The challenging thing was, on the day of filming, I had to work at 3. so I only had half a day to film (considering how late I get out of bed!) and it was one of the most hottest days ever...hahaha. so in the heat - and stressed for time - I can't believe I managed to complete this!...especially some of those dance moves...man I didn't know how much work dancing can be!! haha

so I think that sums it up...

I'd love to hear your thought. maybe some suggestions for future videos. or ideas to make my videos better. remember I'm only new to this filming thing...

wow what a journey it's been to get my website up and running!!! it's taken about 6 months of designing, redesigning, more designing, perfecting, changing host sites, trying new applications...I think you get the picture...but it's finally done!!!

Stephen Carmichael's Australia's got talent audition

here's my Australia's got talent audition. I was so tired!!! it was 12:10 in the morning and I'd waited 11 hours. was it worth it? yes!!! It was such an awesome day and I met heaps of interesting people and made a heap of friends.

however, they didn't tell us if we got through or not. so my fingers are still crossed as they have been for the past three days haha.

anyway, how do you think I went? and also bare in mind that I heard about the audition the day b4! so I'm really pulling this song out of nowhere...

"Black Light" Live at The Uber

Hey for those how didn't get a chance to come down to my gig at the Uber here's a video of one of my songs - Black Light.

It's a little bit different to the one on my myspace page. I've developed it a little more. It's longer and it has a more of a dance beat. I really liked the vibe of this though...

anyway, I've had a few people ask how did my gig at the Uber went. to be honest not too good. we had the worst sound guy ever!!!!! we were going through our first song and he left the club. and throughout our first song we had this really boomy feedback!!! it was horrible. my worst nightmare for any live performance. it just got louder and louder!!! hahaha

anyway, he finally came back after my cousins boyfriend ran and got him (thanks mate!). anyway, when he came back he got rid of the feedback thankfully. but for the rest of the time he was on this phone texting!!!!!!! so many things needed to be changed and adjusted...

anyway, he was a really nice guy anyway. it's just that he didn't know what he was doing behind a sound desk...maybe I'm just a bit of a perfectionist??

Hey it's finally come!!! it's been a long 3-4 months working on this track. and to be honest it's been crazy!! I've done so many different versions of this song and perfected every aspect, every idea, and refined countless melodies. so here it is!!!

hey so on mon the 11th of jan I had a photo shoot with brisbane photographer SIGRID SAGORSKI (thanks to my friend Yee). it was such an awesome day!! we went into the valley to do the shoot. first we went to a bar (I think it was called The Inn) and then we went out to an alley somewhere. the alley sunk like crazy....

my new single (possible release date)

hey just a short little note to let you know that after christmas, in Janurary sometime, I'm goint to be releasing the first single from my upcoming album I've been working on!

The tracks called 'to the sun'

I'm just putting the final touches on the song. and I'm reworking the intro a bit!!

So far I've been working on this song for around three months! so hopefully you'll like it.

what is an artist - shift in thoughts

In the last two months I've had a major shift in my thinking. I once thought that I would write music for myself and then hope that people would like it. Now, I've realized that this is very selfish.

What is an artist? what is their purpose?

I've been thinking about this for sometime and it seems that everything in life has a purpose.

We need the 'bin man' (lady) to come and collect and clear out our bin otherwise where would we put out trash? we need the bin 'person'. We need farmers to produce out food other wise we'll have nothing to eat. we need tech guys, and mobile phone people and the nurses and the doctors and the architects and the builders. But do we need the artists?

the answer is yes.

I was on a crowded bus a few days ago when I was coming home from doing Christmas shopping. and there was barley enough room for me to even stand. NO one looked particularly happy on this bus. In fact everyone looked kind of miserable. But I wouldn't blame them. it was stinking hot, the bus smelt like crazy and, like I said, we were packed in like sardines.

What I noticed was that almost everyone was listening to music. They could have just sat there. why did they need the music?

Here is my reason. None of our lives are perfect. And it probably never will be. (sorry to be pessimistic). but what music gives us is an escape. we no longer have to be sitting on that bus we can be where ever our mind shall wonder; wherever the music takes us. art is a medium for people to free themselves from their life.

so when I know write my music. I'm not writing for myself. I'm writing for you. this is the purpose of an artist....
